Today in the morning from what time we do not know, there is no NMC for this network everyone goes to SLEEP! after five and leaves the network to tend to its self, the network died. The switch went down and since the switch is one that ment Intercel was off in whole of Conakry. When this happened, no one knows , but atleast not before 2am since Joseph (my boss) was doing a BSC database upgrade with one Uri Bah (Intercel OAM Engineer). So this morning Djane (Intercel) wakes up to find that he cannot call he tried with a diffrent provider to call his boss, so events rolled out calling respective bosses and the whole of intercel was in the office in no time. So they did a reboot of the switch, all breakers had tripped meaning short, power surge blah blah blah.. But our microwave did not come up so we had to be called, its a sunday partner meaning there was partying yesterday so I was deep asleep. My boss dead asleep from the night's BSC work. So off we go to the office all the E1's were disabled, crap.. the SRAL XD big bug, wen ever power goes off for a long time the stupid thing forgets the enabled tributaries its probably a software thing since the first E1 never disables meaning the idiot who wrote the software never for saw this. Plus I do not know why the stupid Italians never fixed it after so many complains from Kenya especially or they never took it serious.....

its has been three weeks not bad so far 5 btses down 9 microwaves done ... phew still going on. its nice though I have made alot of new friends Senegalese and Guineans. its a beautiful countly rich in menerals and a rich culture. People are good I hope and wish all place would be like this place, for the past three week I have not heard a gun shot unlike Nairobi where thugs and police shootings are common. Or maybe its their money .... hummm 1euro is 7500 GNF .... and their largest note is 5000 figure out that a thug stealing 1000000KSH would need to hijack a train to fit in the money.

We came here eleven days ago, left for Guinea from JKIA Kenya, the fright is 16 hours with a short stop over at Uganda then a long stop over at Brussels a change of plane. I do not even think the plane was changed I think we just flew what we came with from Kenya.
